I’m going to get this straight, I’m most certainly not out to completely bash Avril Lavigne’s whole life or anything, but seriously? She claims to be a punk icon and she doesn’t even know one of the most influential bands of this kind of music genre. Yes, I understand that she wasn’t born in the time as the Sex Pistols, but then again neither was I and neither was a very large amount of individuals that enjoy punk music but we’ve all at least heard of them. I don’t think punk music would have the same vibe as it does today without that fucking band and she doesn’t even know “that stuff” ?! Even if she had claimed to have known who they are/were I bet she would only know “Anarchy in the UK” or “God Save The Queen” any of their most known songs. But on top of this quote, one that even pissed me off more….

Oh fuck, Avril created punk for this day and age? Does she only think that wearing ties and singing her shitty ass “pop-shit-mainsteam” music is all of what punk consists of? I guess she does, on top of that if she doesn’t even know who the Sex Pistols are why on earth is she making a reference to her being LIKE Sid Vicious? She is no where near who he was or anything like him in my opinion, I guess others opinions may vary. Either way, her making a reference like that is what gets to me, she probably doesn’t even know anything about him or who he was. Out of all the band members to choose from she chooses Sid? Not Johnny, Paul, Steve or even Glen (who does not get as much credit as he deserves.) Sid was a heroin addict who wasn’t even plugged in half of the time they played their shows. But don’t get me wrong, I do love Sid he was a very interesting individual. But I’m pretty sure even he would be insulted if he was still alive and someone told him that Avril thinks she is similar to him.
